Synopsis: Harry Sullivan hasn’t seen his son Drew in thirteen years, and now Drew is coming to Harry’s Saskatchewan ranch for a visit. This visit examines the things that divide and how two stubborn men can give in to feelings of the heart. This sentimental comedy is examined through memory and the ever present need to reconcile.
Character Breakdown: (Ages are listed as Character Age, not the age of the actor)
HARRY – Base Age: 59 – Also plays the role of Harry’s Father – A stubborn man who is set in his ways and doesn’t accept change easily.
GIN – Base Age: 50 – Also plays the roles of Lori and Harry’s Mother – A strong and willful woman who knows what she wants.
DREW – Base Age: 29 – Also plays the roles of Young Drew and Young Harry – A stubborn man who has had a life set-back and is in search of healing.
Auditions will be conducted in 10-minute bookings. Please prepare one Three Minute Max monologue of your choice, and one personal story of family discourse where you found reconciliation. You may be given some re-directs on your monologue.
Things to keep in mind: Your monologue and story are meant to demonstrate your story-telling abilities to the audition panel.
Table Work Rehearsal: Sunday December 30 – 12pm – 6pm
Regular Rehearsals: To begin on Monday, January 7 and will generally be scheduled for Sunday afternoons, Monday evenings and Wednesday evenings. Additional rehearsal may be booked based on the actor’s availability.
